NO BUSES STOP HERE

BUT YOU CAN STOP & PRAY.

Prayer Stop at All Hallows Bow was put up at the beginning of Lent 2026. You can read more about it in the article here and even here Rev Cris Rogers interview with Premier Radio about it here. You’ll find below a shopping list and some top tips on how to make one.

Prayer Stop was the brain child of All Hallows and the House of Prayer for East London and is another creative innovation of a community immersed in urban mission and the amazing neighbourhoods of Bow.

You’ll find below a shopping list, including free artwork and tips incase you are also thinking, ‘do you know what I think people in my patch need, a place to pray on the street, to submit a prayer request and encounter the church and the One they follow, right there and then.

SHOPPING LIST

1 × 48mm Scaffold pole

1 x Display case/menu case

2 x R-Shape clamps (flag fixings)

3 x Bracket key clamp (bottom fixing)

1 x Flag sign

1 x Artwork poster for display case

1 x page on your church website

1 x person to receive prayer requests

1 x topper (3D printed)

The main assembly is basically a few things fixed to a pole. Easy! From bottom to top — we used three bespoke bracket clamps to fix the pole securely to an existing raised bed made of wooden sleepers. It has a kind of bench built in so it worked really well. You may not have a bench so we suggest you think about a version that fixes to a wall, thoughts on that at the very bottom.

The main bus stop then is made up of a menu display case fixed to the pole with bespoke artwork inside. Then a ‘flag’ in the style of a London bus stop with bible verses instead of buses numbers and a few other bits like the cross. This was printed onto aluminium board and then we attached it to the pole with R-shaped clamps and by drilling holes in the aluminium board. Cris then 3D printed a topper to, well, top it off. These are the exact specs:

1 x Scaffold Pole — 48mm from local provider

1 x Display case/menu case — ‘A4 end to end’ size, £109, from online shop

2 x R-Shape clamps — the fixing for the flag, about £10 from online shop

3 x Bespoke bracket key clamp — bottom fixing, about £40 from online iron monger

1 x Flag sign — standard dibond aluminium outdoor sign, approx £50 — here

1 x Poster for display case — outdoor 170gsm PVC waterproof, approx £30 — here

1 x page on your church website — so important to link the QR code on the poster to an online page with a prayer request form, just like this

1 x person to receive prayer requests — ours go to an e-mail so people are actually prayed for in an appropriate way.

1 x topper (3D printed) — Cris did this, maybe he’ll make more? Or maybe you have a 3D printer person in your church? If not get in touch as we know a few.

ARTWORK —

WALL MOUNTED VERSION ?

We think a wall mounted version would work, using the same flag as a sign on a wall bracket like this, and then attaching the menu display case below. If you do this please let us know, we’d love to know how well it works.
