Prayer in the Park

If you were walking through Mile End park on Friday 12th July you might have suddenly been distracted by a diverse bunch of people writing prayers and hanging them on a makeshift washing line, some children and young people going in and out of a bright blue and green van and a smiley and interesting lady wearing a purple shirt and a big cross walking around.

We hosted a ’Stepney at Prayer’ event in Mile End Park, the first held outdoors and it was a great time. We had various prayer stations helping us pray for young people in East London in creative ways. There were numerous churches represented, almost 50 people from 3 years old to retirement. We met a few passers by who were intrigued by what was going on and had a special moment at the end, praying together and being blessed by the Bishop of Stepney.

Check out Stepney at Prayer for details of upcoming prayer meetings for the whole of the Stepney Area of the Diocese of London and stay tuned to towerhamlets.church/prayer for events in our borough.
