Farewell Bishop Joanne

It was a wonderful evening at Christ Church Spitalfields on Monday, 22 September, as we gathered to give thanks for all that God is doing across the Stepney Area and to say farewell to Bishop Joanne.

The evening began with worship and a thanksgiving liturgy, featuring two beautiful anthems from the Hackney Church Schools Choir and hymns led by the church band. Clergy and frontline mission leaders shared powerful updates on the funded mission programmes and projects across Hackney & Islington and the Tower Hamlets Mission Project.

During the reception, there was time to mingle, reconnect, and meet new faces before we came together again for words of thanks and prayers for Bishop Joanne as she prepares to move to the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich.
